Roof Replacement in Plainfield, NJ
Plainfield, NJ
We recently replaced a roof in Plainfield. Installed new architectural shingles to keep the home protected.
The Challenge
We had to manage everything carefully to make sure the replacement went smoothly and got done on time.
The Solution
The crew put in the new architectural shingles over a few days, sticking to the installation standards all along.
Materials Used
Asphalt shingles — architectural, three-tab, or designer. Starter-strip shingles — installed along eaves and rakes. Hip and ridge cap shingles — finish hips and roof peaks. Synthetic underlayment or roofing felt — protection beneath shingles. Ice and water shield — waterproofing at vulnerable areas. Drip edge — metal edging along eaves and rakes. Valley flashing or valley membrane — based on the valley installation method. Step flashing — where the roof meets sidewalls. Apron and counterflashing — for walls and chimneys, as applicable. Pipe boots — seal around plumbing vent pipes. Ridge vents and intake vents — provide attic ventilation. Roofing nails — sized for the shingles and roof deck. Cap nails — secure underlayment. Roofing sealant or cement — compatible with the roofing system. Plywood or OSB roof decking — replace damaged sections. Decking nails or screws — secure replacement sheathing. Skylight flashing kits — if skylights are present. Ventilation baffles — where needed to keep soffit airflow clear.
